What are the Initial requirements for a licensed Security/Fire Alarm Installer?

An applicant must submit a completed application to the South Carolina Contractors Licensing Board, including:

– all applicable fees

– a Certificate of Liability Insurance

– Score sheets from the required Technical and Code of Law exams

– Proof of NTS Level 1 Certification (Burglar Alarm)

– NICET Level II certificate of completion for fire alarms

South Carolina does have reciprocity with Alabama, Georgia, and Texas.

 

What are the continuing education requirements for South Carolina?

To update your NICET Certification, review our Fire Systems Category or Industry Code Category for applicable coursework. Remember, this is not a State specific Certification, and our coursework is approved across State lines.
