What are the initial requirements for a licensed Alarm Installer?

The Elite CEU Alarm Level 1 proctored exam is approved for Alarm Installers by the Wichita, Kansas Board of Electrical Appeals.

In Wichita, Kansas an Alarm Technician will need to bring the Certificate of Completion to the Office of Central Inspection and fill out a certificate of receiprocity form with our office. The Master Alarm Certificate issued by the CIty will expire 12/31 of each odd-numbered year. There is a $20 processing fee to obtain a CIty of Wichita Alarm certificate to allow a Technician to work.

Alarm Salespersons do not need an Alarm Level 1 or CEU’s. It is required that they apply for a business license.

What are the educational requirements of Wichita, Kansas?

There are no state requirements for continuing education at this time.

Wichita, Kansas does not require continuing education at this time.

The State of Kansas requires 12 classroom hours of continuing education every 2 years or 6 classroom hours every year to renew your Master, Journeyman or Residential Wireman license or certificate.

ATTENTION: Starting January 1, 2010 not less than 6 hours every 2 years, or 3 hours every year shall consist of training on code related to Electrical, HVAC, or Plumbing code.

The MABCD is on a 2-year renewal cycle on certificates and all certificates expire December 31st of each odd-number year. When you renew your certificate, you will have to provide information on the class(es) you attended to show 12 hours of continuing education related to your specific trade, 6 hours of which will have to be on code related to your specific trade.
