Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Understand the Importance of Electrical Safety: Gain a foundational understanding of the importance of electrical safety in the workplace and its relevance to personal and organizational health and safety.
- Learn about OSHA Electrical Safety Standards: Develop a comprehensive understanding of OSHA electrical safety standards, particularly those outlined in 29 CFR 1910 Subpart S and NFPA 70E.
- Identify and Assess Electrical Hazards: Acquire skills to identify common electrical hazards in the workplace and carry out risk assessments accordingly.
- Implement Preventative Safety Measures: Understand and apply preventative safety measures and best practices when working with or around electricity. This includes proper use and maintenance of electrical equipment, grounding, insulation, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Understand Emergency Response Procedures: Learn the appropriate steps to follow during an electrical emergency, including equipment de-energization procedures, basic first aid, and incident reporting.
