OSHA Electrical Safety

The OSHA Electrical Safety Course is a concise yet comprehensive two-hour training designed for individuals who interact directly or indirectly with electrical systems in the workplace. The course provides an overview of electrical safety regulations as per OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines, common electrical hazards, risk assessment procedures, and preventative safety measures. Participants will also be introduced to proper emergency response procedures in the case of electrical incidents. Upon completion of the course, attendees will possess a firm grasp of OSHA’s electrical safety standards, best practices for reducing electrical-related risks, and the importance of maintaining a safe work environment.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Understand the Importance of Electrical Safety: Gain a foundational understanding of the importance of electrical safety in the workplace and its relevance to personal and organizational health and safety.
  • Learn about OSHA Electrical Safety Standards: Develop a comprehensive understanding of OSHA electrical safety standards, particularly those outlined in 29 CFR 1910 Subpart S and NFPA 70E.
  • Identify and Assess Electrical Hazards: Acquire skills to identify common electrical hazards in the workplace and carry out risk assessments accordingly.
  • Implement Preventative Safety Measures: Understand and apply preventative safety measures and best practices when working with or around electricity. This includes proper use and maintenance of electrical equipment, grounding, insulation, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Understand Emergency Response Procedures: Learn the appropriate steps to follow during an electrical emergency, including equipment de-energization procedures, basic first aid, and incident reporting.
