New Jersey Survey on Proposed Bill A5767
A bill has recently been proposed in New Jersey that aims to solidify certain Continuing Education Requirements for New Jersey Burglar Alarm, Fire Alarm and Locksmith Licensees. Particularly, in Assembly Bill A 5767 (introduced June 12, 2025), page 4, lines 39 through 46 limit the number of continuing education hours Burglar, Fire, and Locksmith licensees may complete through correspondence, self-study, televised, videotaped, teleconference, or internet courses.

Assembly Bill No. 5767 (2025), Section 6, amending P.L.1997, c.305 (C.45:5A-27.1), provides that “no more than 10 continuing education credits per triennial registration period, per license, may be obtained through correspondence, self-study, televised, videotaped, teleconference, or internet courses.”
